REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing & Communications
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, non-exempt
PAY RATE: $22.00/hour
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will assist in the creation and distribution of marketing and communications materials for I Love A Clean San Diego, including social media, website, media relations, and newsletters. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will work closely with the Community Engagement and Education staff to support their programs and projects.
Specific Duties Include:
- Assist in the development and implementation of I Love A Clean Sand Diego’s marketing plan
- Support in the development of media outreach, press releases, media advisories and pitches
- Assist with creation of marketing collateral, including annual report, brochures, and branded materials
- Conceptualize and develop programmatic marketing materials for social media and print
- Help maintain social media calendar and provide social media monitoring support
- Support with content and functionality updates to the organization’s website and microsites
- Support the design and development of organization’s email communications
- Assist in execution of fundraising campaigns including creation of landing pages and optimizing donation pages
- Report on organization’s reach, including social media metrics, marketing campaigns, and media coverage
- Assist in capturing photographs and b-roll and maintaining photo organization system
- Support the organization’s cleanups, booths, and events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or at least 1 year of experience
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, MailChimp, WordPress, Microsoft Office, and fundraising tools
- Creative thinker – provide practical solutions
- Self-starter and independently motivated
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to working in a team environment; strong interpersonal skills
- Passion for the environment; knowledge of environmental issues
- Previous experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus
- Bilingual Spanish/English welcomed but not mandatory
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, non-exempt
- $22.00 per hour
- Mileage reimbursement at current CA reimbursement rate
- Paid time off (PTO) plan
