About:
People have been burying waste throughout our existence, but have you ever wondered where your waste goes after throwing it into the bin? Learn more and get a behind-the-scenes look at what really happens when you dispose of waste. We will clear up the myth of throwing something “away”.
Join I Love A Clean San Diego to better understand how your daily actions impact the Miramar Landfill and the City of San Diego’s goal to reach zero waste by 2040. You will not only learn about the importance of zero waste, but also receive tools on how to get there. Other tour highlights include the Allan Company Recycling Facility, the Greenery, and the Household Hazardous Waste Transfer Facility.
This tour is made possible by the City of San Diego Environmental Services Department and facilitated by I Love A Clean San Diego.

Once you have turned into the landfill there will be a stop sign on the left hand-side with an orange ILACSD flag. Turn left at the stop sign.
