Marketing Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Development & Marketing
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, non-exempt / Hybrid position
POSITION OVERVIEW:
I Love A Clean San Diego (ILACSD) is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Coordinator with eagerness to create highly engaging social media content in written, graphic and video format to help get San Diegans excited about sustainability, volunteering and caring for our local environment. The role also supports the annual marketing plan, website, media relations and newsletter. The ideal candidate will possess strong social media skills, writing and design skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful environmental initiatives while developing a strong portfolio of environmental storytelling as we reach our strategic marketing goals.
Areas of Responsibility:
Social Media: 50%
- Conceptualize and develop highly engaging social media posts in the form of reels and graphics based off of the strategic marketing plan
- Manage social media requests from various departments
- Schedule posts and manage social media calendar
- Provide social media monitoring support
Strategic Marketing Plan Support: 40%
- Assist in the development and implementation of I Love A Clean Sand Diego’s marketing plan • Support in the development of media outreach, press releases, media advisories and pitches • Assist with creation of marketing collateral, including annual report, brochures, and branded materials • Support with content and functionality updates to the organization’s website and microsites • Support the design and development of organization’s email communications through Mailchimp • Assist in execution of fundraising campaigns including creation of landing pages and optimizing donation pages • Assist in capturing photographs and b-roll and maintaining photo organization system
Administrative & General– 10%
- Generate monthly and ongoing reports based on the marketing deliverables created each month • Support the Director of Marketing & Development with other administrative tasks
- Support the organization’s cleanups, booths, and events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
∙ Strong content creation skills. Experience creating engaging social media reels preferred ∙ You consider copywriting and storytelling an emerging strength of yours
∙ Proficiency designing in Canva
∙ Microsoft Office (Excel, and Outlook) experience preferred
∙ Experience updating WordPress websites and using Mailchimp preferred
∙ Video editing for social media (experience with CapCut preferred)
∙ Reliable transportation; ability and willingness to travel to event locations (mileage is covered when it exceeds distance from your home to office)
∙ Ability to pass a background check prior to employment
∙ Be able and willing to work flexible hours as needed, which may include weekends or evenings on occasion when networking events or our program events come up.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Full-time, non-exempt
- $22 – $24 per hour, depending on experience
- Mileage reimbursement at current CA reimbursement rate
- Paid time off (PTO starts at 15 days accrued annually) and generous paid holiday schedule (12 holidays) • Employer-sponsored health (HMO) and dental plans (PPO)
- Hybrid in-office/remote work schedule
- 403b retirement program with match opportunity after 90 days
