Organizers seek 600 volunteers for three Chula Vista sites
The City of Chula Vista and I Love A Clean San Diego are calling all volunteers to register for the 17th annual Beautify Chula Vista Day neighborhood cleanup on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. This year, volunteers can choose from three Chula Vista locations to participate in beautification activities:
- Memorial Park – 373 Park Way
- Loma Verde Recreation Center – 1420 Loma Lane
- Bonita Vista High School – 751 Otay Lakes Road
Hosted by Mayor Mary Casillas Salas and the Chula Vista City Council, in collaboration with I Love a Clean San Diego, volunteers will help remove graffiti, assist with landscape mulching and clean up multiple tons of litter from streets, parks and canyons. Approximately 600 volunteers are needed to make a lasting impact.
Participants must provide their own transportation, and are advised to wear appropriate clothing and shoes, and bring work gloves, a refillable water bottle and snacks or lunch. This is a great opportunity for students to earn community service hours and for residents to get involved by lending a helping hand in their community.
