We invite you to kick off I Love A Clean San Diego’s 65th year at this fun-filled event! Proceeds from Toast the Coast support environmental education, community beautification, and zero waste resources throughout San Diego County.
Tickets are $25 per person for folks 21 years old and up and $15 for guests 20 and under. All tickets include Snooze’s signature pancakes, breakfast tacos, and other tasty menu options, as well as non-alcoholic drinks; adult tickets also include one drink token for select cocktails. A cash bar is available for any additional alcohol purchases.

On Saturday, June 24th, I Love A Clean San Diego celebrated our annual Summer Social: “Toasts & Tacos”
Delicious tacos from Rubio’s and tasty beer from ChuckAlek at our Summer Social!
This SOLD OUT event brought over 100 guests to the ChuckAlek Biergarten for a fun and relaxed afternoon to support the environmental and educational programming offered by ILACSD. Guests enjoyed delicious tacos from Rubio’s Coastal Grill, as well as signature craft beers by ChuckAlek Biergarten.
Iliana Ortiz & Dee Jay Acoustic Duo (featuring David Sullivan on drums!)
Lively music was provided by the local group, Dee Jay & Iliana Acoustic Duo (featuring David Sullivan on drums), kept the party going with their fresh takes on some of our favorite songs. A lively raffle was held with terrific prizes such as homemade jam made by an ILACSD Board Member, tickets to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, a set of tickets to an upcoming San Diego Padres game, lunch for two at the Liberty Station Slater’s 50/50 restaurant, and the most sought after item—a one night stay at local luxury hotel, Tower 23 in Pacific Beach with a generous gift certificate for dinner for two at adjoining restaurant, JRDN.

Funds raised at this event support the ongoing educational programming, community cleanup events, recycling and hazardous household waste information services, robust internship program, and other volunteer efforts of I Love A Clean San Diego. We are so appreciative of all our new and old friends who joined in this terrific event! I Love A Clean San Diego’s Toasts & Tacos: Summer Social 2017
Enjoy an afternoon at the lovely ChuckAlek Biergarten in North Park for an afternoon of craft beer, tacos, games, entertainment, raffle prizes and more! You can find information on how to make an impact in our community while having fun. This event is family-friendly, dog-friendly and all proceeds will help support environmental education and improvement projects throughout San Diego County!
All attendees will receive one complimentary ChuckAlek beer or nonalcoholic drink of their choice, as well as access to the Rubio’s Coastal Grill taco bar (vegan and vegetarian options available!). Summer is upon us! One of my favorite things to do after a long day in the sun is to relax with an ice-cold beer. And in San Diego, we are lucky to have so many award-winning microbreweries at our fingertips. But did you know that when you reach out for that Levitation IPA, you are actually helping the environment?
Stone Brewery World Bistro and Gardens just opened a new location walking distance from ILACSD’s offices. Along with bocce and movies, Stone is also on the forefront of sustainability. Sustainability has not always been a word associated with beer…until now. Many local breweries have decided that green beer isn’t just for St. Patrick’s Day. From their ingredients to their delivery trucks, Stone Brewery World Bistro and Gardens practices many forms of sustainability.
As an environmentally conscious person, I’m stoked that a local business promotes renewable energy through their use of solar panels and has a water reclamation system that prevents 30,000 gallons of wastewater from entering the sewer system each day. However, what I really care about is the food and beer. Being vegan I have become aware of what ingredients are in food and I recently discovered that not all beers are vegan – weird. I’m happy to report, according to Barnivore, Stone’s beers are vegan! Often I am frustrated by salads as the only vegan options available; Stone has a smorgasbord of vegan friendly options! They have even gone a step further through the promotion of their Meatless Monday Menu, preventing 110,448 lbs. of CO2 from being released annually. Not only am I eating a nutritious and tasty meal, but I know that it is coming from quality ingredients, since Stone Brewery also uses all-natural ingredients in their beers and local, organic produce in their restaurant. Also, they are the largest purchaser of local, organic produce in San Diego County. Talk about supporting local businesses! Some of the extra food is composted and the spent grain from brewing is repurposed.

Just writing this is making me thirsty! Haven’t visited Stone yet? No problem! Check out their sustainable practices on July 20th at I Love A Clean San Diego’s Summer Social.
