Sunset Sweep: Manzanita Canyon Cleanup 2/23/2023

Join I Love A Clean San Diego, San Diego Canyonlands, and Think Blue San Diego for a litter cleanup in Manzanita Canyon! We will divert litter from the San Diego Bay Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table at The Manzanita Gathering Place. Join us at 3pm to learn about the canyon and recycling right, then grab supplies and help us clean up!

This event requires a signed release-of-liability waiver for all volunteers, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian.

Watershed Warriors: Flinn Springs Community Cleanup 1/21/23

Join I Love A Clean San Diego, Flinn Springs County Park, and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Flinn Springs! We will divert litter from the San Diego River Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Join I Love A Clean San Diego, Casa De Oro Community Alliance, and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Casa De Oro! We will divert litter from the Sweetwater Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table and supplies in the Casa De Oro Shopping Center parking lot. Join us at 9am for a talk by our Education Team about our watersheds and recycling right, then grab supplies and help us clean up!

Storm Drain Stenciling Day

The time has come – Join I Love A Clean San Diego and Think Blue San Diego for our twice-annual Storm Drain Stenciling Day! We will walk around the neighborhood and stencil storm drains with a conservation message.

What do you need for this event? Just a ready-to-help attitude!

  • We provide the stenciling kits and maps to help you find drains.
  • Our goal is to have 10 drains stenciled per group.
  • We encourage you to wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on, and closed-toed shoes.
  • Be ready to walk or drive – drains are spread throughout neighborhoods and can be a 20-minute walk away from our starting location. Driving is always an option if you’d prefer!

Storm Drain Stenciling Week 12/5/22-12/9/22 (Independent Kit Check-out)

In honor of Storm Drain Stenciling Day on December 10, we are also hosting a Storm Drain Stenciling WEEK! If you want to stencil drains but can’t join us on Saturday, this is your chance to:

  • Sign-up
  • Pick-up your kit from our office anytime the week before Storm Drain Stenciling Day
  • Stencil drains around your neighborhood (City of San Diego only)
  • Drop your kit back off at our office ASAP so we can clean up supplies and reuse them next time!

Storm Drain Stenciling Kit Assembly Day

Join I Love A Clean San Diego and Think Blue San Diego for a kit assembly day to support Storm Drain Stenciling Day! We will be prepping kits for volunteers to stencil storm drains.

We need your help to put together these storm drain stenciling kits! This includes:

  • Pouring paint into paint cups
  • Putting paint brushes and other tools into small bags
  • Adding paint cups, small bags, and paperwork into tote bags

38th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day

38th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day

Free online registration opens on September 1, 2022.

Join hundreds of thousands of volunteers all over the world by participating in the 38th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 17th, 2022. Register to be a part of the largest single day environmental action event in San Diego County by removing polluting litter and debris from your community.

By joining forces with I Love A Clean San Diego and getting out in your local community to remove trash, you can support your neighborhood and protect our San Diego watersheds. Volunteers of all ages are invited to grab buckets and work gloves and join one of our 75+ site locations across San Diego County. No matter where you live in the county, every gutter, street, parking lot, park, canyon and beach is in one of the county’s 11 watersheds. The health of these systems means healthier creeks and ocean for all of us!

Registration opens Thursday, September 1 at Cleanupday.org

Officially sign up on September 1, 2022 and get ready to clean up San Diego County on September 17th. Registered volunteers will receive important safety and site resources and information to have a successful cleanup. Volunteer With Us To Support Kids Adopt-A-Beach

Come join us for a Kids Adopt-A-Beach cleanup!

You will be helping to assist a an elementary school summer program in cleaning up Ocean Beach.

We are seeking 10-15 community volunteers to join I Love A Clean San Diego to help these students with their cleanup. You will help hand out supplies, act as a patrol, and guide students along the beach.

Students will be bussed to the beach and arrive around 9:45 am and wrap things up around 11:15 am.

We are asking volunteers to arrive by 9:15 am to help set up materials and pack up any remaining materials after the event and be wrapped up and out of there by 11:30 am. We are happy to verify community service for this event.

Watershed Warriors: Harbison Canyon Community Cleanup

Join I Love A Clean San Diego and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Harbison Canyon! We will divert litter from the Sweetwater Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table and supplies at Old Ironsides County Park. Join us at 9am for a talk by our Education Team about our watersheds and recycling right, then grab supplies and help us clean up and remove invasive plants from the creek!
