Volunteer
Adopt-A-Beach or Canyon
Volunteers are able to schedule and lead their own cleanups at over 70 locations through the Adopt-A-Beach or Canyon.
This program is funded by the California Coastal Commission’s Whale Tail Grant, and allows service groups, businesses, schools, and individuals to select a beach or inland area to adopt and perform three cleanups over the course of one year. School adopters are only required to complete one cleanup per year due to transportation limitations.
Cleanups
Create your own volunteer profile in less than a minute and get access to all of our opportunities.
I Love A Clean San Diego hosts cleanup events that are open to the public throughout the county year-round. Cleanups are typically Saturday mornings, however, I Love A Clean San Diego offers other volunteer opportunities as well. Visit our Community Hub for a complete listing of upcoming volunteer opportunities!
Volunteer Site Captains
Our reach and impact would not be possible without our dedicated Site Captains at our countywide cleanups: Creek to Bay and Coastal Cleanup Day.
If you have noticed the need for a cleanup in your neighborhood or favorite recreational area, become a Site Captain and take action! I Love A Clean San Diego will provide you with the training to be successful in activating your community and hosting an impactful cleanup. Contact Kristin Banks at kbanks@cleansd.org or call 619-704-2772 to get involved.
